Temporary trial from October 22, 2026 adds Executive AC Chair Car to the train’s composition on select days

Southern Railway (SR) marks a significant milestone in passenger travel and rail tourism with the introduction of its first-ever Vistadome Coach on Train Nos. 16327/16328 Madurai – Guruvayur – Madurai Express on a temporary trial basis.

The Vistadome coach will be attached to the train ex Madurai from October 22, 2026 to January 15, 2027 operating on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and ex Guruvayur from October 23, 2026 to January 16, 2027 operating on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, says a release from SR.

With the introduction of the Executive/AC Chair Car Vistadome coach, the composition is revised as follows: 1 Executive AC Chair Car Coach (Vistadome Coach), 1 AC Three Tier Coach, 2 Sleeper Class Coaches, 7 General Second Class Coaches, 1 Second Class Coach (Divyangjan Friendly) and 1 Luggage cum Brake Van.

Advance bookings for the above trains are open, says a release.
